Step-by-step guide to inflating an 8-inch heart-shaped memorial balloon on a stick

How to Inflate & Assemble Your 8" Heavenly Balloon on a Stick – Step-by-Step Guide

How to Inflate and Assemble Your 8" Heavenly Balloon on a Stick

Whether you're honoring a loved one at their graveside, decorating for a memorial gathering, or celebrating a heavenly birthday or anniversary, our 8" Heavenly Balloons on a Stick make the perfect heartfelt tribute. Each order comes complete with everything you need — 2 heart-shaped foil balloons, 2 sticks, and 2 clips — so you're ready to display two beautiful balloons right out of the box.

Here's exactly how to inflate and assemble them in minutes.

What's Included in Every Order

Before you start, open your package and confirm you have:

2 × 8" heart-shaped foil memorial balloons

2 × balloon sticks

2 × balloon clips

No pump needed. No helium required. These balloons are designed to be air-filled by blowing through the stick — quick, easy, and no special equipment necessary.

Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

Step 1 – Insert the Stick into the Clip

Take the balloon stick and insert it firmly into the balloon clip.

Step 2 – Insert the Clip into the Balloon Valve

Look at the bottom of the heart-shaped balloon and locate the clear flap — this is the balloon's valve (seal). Carefully insert the pointed tip of the clip into the valve, gently pushing through the clear flap. Be gentle — the flap is there to create an airtight seal once the balloon is inflated.

Step 3 – Massage the Neck of the Balloon

With the clip inserted, use your finger to massage the neck of the balloon up and down a few times. This loosens the valve and helps create a smooth, open channel so air flows freely when you blow.

Step 4 – Inflate by Blowing Through the Stick

Place your mouth on the bottom end of the stick and blow air steadily upward through the stick. The air travels up through the stick and clip directly into the balloon. Keep blowing until the balloon is fully inflated and the heart shape is beautifully defined.

Tips for the perfect inflation:

Blow slowly and steadily — don't rush it

Pause and check the shape as you go

Stop when the balloon feels firm but not tight — overinflating can stretch the foil seams

Step 5 – The Balloon Self-Seals

Once inflated, the clear flap valve automatically seals the balloon — no tying or knotting required. The clip holds the seal securely in place so no air escapes.

Step 6 – Your Tribute is Ready

Stand the stick upright at the graveside, in a flower arrangement, a vase with stones, or push the pointed tip directly into the ground. Step back and let the balloon speak to the heart.

How Long Do They Last?

When air-filled, our 8" heart-shaped foil balloons typically last 1–2 weeks indoors. Outdoors at a graveside or cemetery, expect 3–7 days depending on weather and sun exposure. Cooler, shaded conditions will help them last longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use helium instead of air? These 8" balloons are designed to be air-filled and displayed on a stick. At this size, helium won't provide enough lift to float the balloon, so we recommend air-filling through the stick for the best results.

Can kids inflate them? Yes! Since you blow through the stick, it requires only steady, gentle breath — making it easy for adults and older children without any tools.

What shape are the balloons? All of our 8" balloons on a stick are heart-shaped — a beautiful symbol of love and remembrance, perfect for memorial tributes.

What occasions are they perfect for? Our 8" Heavenly Balloons on a Stick are ideal for:

Graveside birthday tributes

Heavenly anniversary memorials

Cemetery remembrance visits

Memorial gatherings and celebrations of life

Día de los Muertos altars

Rest in Paradise tributes

Do I need anything else? Nothing at all. Everything you need for two complete balloon displays comes inside the box — 2 balloons, 2 sticks, 2 clips.
