Why we built a virtual balloon release

Balloon releases have always been a powerful symbol of letting go — of sending love upward. But physical balloon releases come with real problems: released balloons harm wildlife, litter the places we love, and are actually restricted or banned in many states, including California, where we're based.

We wanted families to keep the feeling — that moment of watching love rise — without any of the harm. So we built a balloon release that lives on your screen. How it works

The balloon appears once a day. Some families make it a small daily ritual: morning coffee, a quiet moment, one balloon for Mom.

Who the balloons are for

Every number on that counter is a person being missed: a mother whose birthday just passed, a father remembered on a fishing trip anniversary, a baby whose family sends a balloon up every single morning, a best friend who would have laughed at the whole idea and then tapped it twice.

We'll never know most of their names. But we know what each tap means: you are not forgotten.
